Poker Legends, Now In Your Headphones
GGPoker has rolled out a new voice-announcement feature that lets players choose iconic poker personalities to narrate their in-game actions — and the lineup is about as star-studded as it gets.
Who's in the Booth?
The initial roster includes:
- Doyle Brunson — the Texas Dolly himself, a two-time WSOP Main Event champion
- Daniel Negreanu — six-time bracelet winner and one of the most recognizable faces in the game
- Michael Mizrachi — three-time WSOP bracelet holder known simply as The Grinder
Instead of generic system sounds, players can now have a legend call out their raises, folds, and all-ins in real time.
Why It Matters
Cosmetic and audio personalisation features have become a meaningful differentiator among major online poker platforms. GGPoker has been particularly aggressive in this space, and tapping actual Hall-of-Fame-caliber voices adds a layer of authenticity that pre-recorded generic audio simply can't match. It also keeps long-grinding sessions feeling a little fresher — hearing Doyle Brunson announce a big bet lands differently than a default beep.
It's worth noting the broader cultural dimension too: Brunson, who passed away in May 2023, lives on in recordings like this — a reminder of just how large a footprint he left on the game. For fans, hearing his voice at the virtual felt may carry genuine sentimental weight.
What's Next?
GGPoker hasn't confirmed whether additional voices will be added to the roster, but given the enthusiastic community response this type of feature typically generates, an expanded lineup seems plausible. Keep an eye on the platform's update notes.
